Zombies are corpses reanimated through supernatural means. They are the main undead enemies encountered in Evil Night.

Zombies appear in every area of the game-- the mansion grounds, the underpass, the ruins, and the graveyard. While some zombies attempt to scratch or bite the player, others attack with a variety of weaponry.

Appearance[]

They appear like the zombies seen in pop-culture media. Just like the zombies seen in George Romero's The Night of the Living Dead (1968), they tend to shuffle slowly towards the players. They usually put their arms in front like a Frankenstein walk. Most of the zombies attack with their arms/claws but as the game progresses, they have been witnessed to utilize weapons such as axes, buzzsaws, chainsaws, knives, hatches, hedge clippers, power drills, and shurikens; similar to the zombies encountered in The House of the Dead series.

Unlike the zombies seen in today's media that bite, infect, and feed on flesh, the zombies encountered here are the true undead. Their objective rather seems to kill the three police officers rather than feeding on their flesh.

Their origin at this point is unknown but it is no doubt a supernatural evil force caused them to awaken, as the game's flyers suggests it.

Trivia[]

  • As mentioned above, the zombies encountered behave like their counterparts from The House of the Dead series. What makes it different from THOTD is that the zombies in that game are scientific experiments while here is a result of supernatural curse or energy.
  • Perhaps the Skeleton Zombie has received much acclaim from fans who have noted its hammy appearance of man in a skeleton suit. In fact, younger players thought they shot a person in a costume.
    • Humorously, two skeleton zombies can be seen feasting on a piece of ham as seen in Stage 1.
    • The skeleton zombie is apparently based on a common costume worn on Halloween or the Day of the Dead festival in Mexico.
    • A tribal warrior is painted with the same skeleton palette in The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest when Captain Jack Sparrow was made king, then later a sacrifice, in Isla Pelegostos.
    • In late-2015, LEGO released a minifigure that resembles the skeleton zombie, called the Skeleton Guy (literally a man in a skeleton suit), as part of their Collectible Minifigures Series 15 Halloween edition.
